Canadian Chinese Consumers  Association (B.C)

The Canadian Chinese Consumers  Association (B.C) is a registered non-profit community organization established in 1986. Our primary mission is to provide consumer-related information to Canadians, especially those consumers who need assistance in making wise decision.

Our Objectives

  • To provide information and advice for consumers.
  • To educate the public with consumer knowledge and skills.
  • To assist consumers in understanding their consumer rights and access to consumer information and resources.
  • To act as a bridge between the consumers, the merchants and the governments.
  • To bring the views and concerns of consumers to the attention of governments, trade and industry.
  • To advocate for better consumers laws and regulations.

Our Programs and Activities

CCCA regularly offers free consumer education seminars, with topics ranging from general consumer rights to specific services/products purchase tips. We actively partner with local radio/TV stations and the press, to improve consumer awareness on emerging consumer issues. To assist consumers who faced the English language barriers, CCCA provides a wealth of consumer information through our bilingual publications and information website. We also operate a Consumer Helpline in three languages, English, Cantonese and Mandarin, where the public can call to seek information, advice or guidance for dealing with their consumer problems.

Our Resources

Currently, approximately 75% of CCCA’s annual operating budget relies on BC Gaming Commission Direct Access Program Grant. Our work is also supported through donations, fundraising activities, and a strong network of advisors comprised of experts from over 30 industries who generously offered their time and advice. CCCA will continue to seek sustainable and long-term resources from different levels of the governments and other agencies to further the scope and scale of multilingual consumer education in Canada.
